Oakland Asian Student Educational Services (OASES)
OASES is an Oakland Chinatown-based nonprofit organization dedicated to serving youth with limited resources.
OASES initially began in 1983 as a U.C. Berkeley community service club comprising college students
organized to respond to the needs of the increasing immigrant population in the Oakland Unified School District.
Today OASES is a 400-volunteer-strong organization, serving over 400 students each year through various
educational and enrichment programs in the Oakland area. Event Information On Saturday, April 12, 2008, OASES Cal Alumni Club will be hosting its 12th Community Fundraising Trivia Bee at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center. Our Trivia Bee is an annual event where teams answer trivia questions in a friendly competition for prizes. Last years event drew over 200 people and raised over $7,000, the clubs most successful fundraiser. Proceeds from the fundraiser will support OASES youth programs and scholarships, ensuring that OASES can continue to deliver quality services to the youth of Oakland.
